With the many options of lite weight travel trailers out in the marketplace today there are many places for buyers to go in order to find the best trailer for their upcoming vacations. There are many good features to be had in the search for these lighter weight RVs and campers will not be disappointed in the various opportunities that awaits them. Keep in mind that with summer always right around the corner it is time to take a closer look at the possibilities in lite weight RVs.
While more and more people have their minds on the environment and how to protect it from pollution its also important to a lot of people to figure out how to cut down on fuel consumption especially with higher gas prices. To watch their spending some travelers are concerned about even getting out camping at all and to many going to a campground or especially buying an RV may already seem out of the budget and out of the question. But does it really need to be this way?
A true to form lite weight trailer is the best solution for all of these concerns. Now anyone can enjoy the best of traveling and with reduced costs and in an way that reduces fuel usage and waste. The idea is to haul a smaller trailer while using a smaller vehicle to do it. Smaller doesn't necessarily mean it will not be roomy, with the newer designs and slide outs this is not a problem in the lighter and more compact units.
Compared to older models of camper trailers the newer lite weight travel trailers weight less. RVs from several years ago that would be considered the distant relatives of the more modern trailers were actually not only bulkier in size but had much more mass to them. Again this makes for less weight to haul around and therefore less fuel to make it to the campsite. Since these new trailers can be purchased lighter and easier to haul it's not a stretch of the imagination for a smaller 3500 pound vehicle to pull them around. Even a sports utility vehicle with a small 1-1/2 inch trailer hitch can tow these lite trailers. Usually you are looking at using a 2 inch hitch when hauling trailers but that no longer has to be the case. For example, an SUV that can fit in a two car garage along side a car and with all the other items that can fill up a normal residential garage can also be used to carry around the towable trailer.
